Collage and Appropriation
The new season of Split’s Škola Gallery starts with Marko Tadić’s exhibition and presents his newest artistic preoccupations.
Table of Contents by Marko Tadić opens at Škola Gallery in Split’s School for Visual Arts on Thursday, October 15th at 7 pm.
Table of Contents uses the author’s distinctive visual languages to examine, through this exhibition, the content of the exhibition itself, viewing it as a crucial framework of art transformations in the 20th century which has been going through numerous transformations and gaining new communication channels in the past few years. By displacing the exhibition’s context and terminological apparatus, Table of Contents introduces us to Tadić’s new temporary collection, with drawing as basic alphabet, and collaging and appropriation as basic creative methodology.
Marko Tadić was born in Sisak in 1979. He graduated painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. He has shown his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He has participated in residency programs in Austria, Germany, Finland, and the USA. He is the winner of several prizes (Radoslav Putar Award). Since 2013 he has been participating in the preparation and realization of interdisciplinary and educational projects by Bacači Sjenki (Froom, Radio Oko), as well as documentary film/moving pictures workshops through RESTART’s projects. He lives and works in Zagreb.
You can see the show until November 11th.
